Patient Placement

Patient Placement Services receives requests for beds from the ED, OR and other hospitals, and manages every aspect of patient flow and communication. We offer an alternative for nurses who have considerable critical thinking skills and are ready for a new environment.

Our work is split between intake and bed placement. Intake works with referring physicians and nurses at outlying hospitals to determine the best place for a patient, to take receipt of a high-level nursing summary from the referring hospital, and, finally, to arrange transportation of the patient. Bed placement involves working with the charge nurses to place patients appropriately, and working with charge nurses, transportation and housekeeping to prioritize patient discharge to meet the needs of incoming patients.

With our sophisticated and ever-changing technology, we offer continual learning opportunities. We also offer flexible scheduling, an added convenience for working parents.

Patient Placement

Orientation

Working at patient placement services is different than floor nursing. We provide a full month of full-time orientation. You will learn the two primary Patient Placement roles - Intake and Bed Placement. To do this you will learn multiple computer applications and work through a variety of scenarios to prepare you for the situations you'll be managing.
